Richard Patterson Death – We are extremely saddened and devastated to announce the death of Richard Patterson, 73, of Spring Port, Indiana, who has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday night vehicle crash involving a suspect drunk driver in Henry County.
Richard Patterson died in a two-vehicle crash in Prairie Township involving an SUV operated by 50-year-old Nathan Lacy of Farmland.
Richard Patterson was operating a motorcycle near his home on CR-650-N near North Prairie Road in New Castle, when an SUV operated by Lacy came into contact with the bike round 9:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Richard Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Lacy admitted to responding Henry County sheriff’s deputies that he had consumed “several alcoholic beverages prior to the wreck.”
Lacy was arrested on a preliminary count of driving while intoxicated causing death. He was being held in the Henry County jail on Thursday under a $10,000 surety bond and a $1,500 cash bond.
