A digital native with a massive fanbase on SoundCloud, Smokepurpp always tries to please his fans. Stuck inside and with nothing to do but count his bands, Purpp shares “excuse me,” his new song.
Released on SoundCloud with the title “F*CK U CORONA U AINT STOPPIN SH*T” (“just jokes yall,” clarifies Purpp), “excuse me” features an instrumental that would sound at home in 1950s detective film, with atmospheric, creeping piano and mournful saxophone emphasizing Purpp’s escalating flexes: “I ain’t check my mail/I got rich as hell/Ice cold baguettes on my teeth, I got rich as hell.”
In the video, Purpp practices responsible social distancing, dancing at his house with a few homies as he shows off his tennis court, his closet, and his gold records. “excuse me” is Purpp’s first new single since the release of Deadstar 2, his recent project.
