Steve Norris Obituary News – Cause of Death: Beloved Crossville weather reporter, Steve Norris dies at 63.
Legendary Crossville weatherman, Steve Norris died on Thursday morning, September 22, 2022, from complications due to pneumonia. Steve has been receiving treatment for the past week for his illness.
Steve began on-air weather forecasting at age 17 for local radio station WAEW-AM/FM.
For more than four decades, Steve has provided live weather updates on several radio stations as a certified meteorologist including his most recent position as staff meteorologist for 3B Media stations 105.7 The HOG, 93.3 The Ranch, Spirit 101.9, 98.9 The WOLF, among others.
Steve never complained about the challenge of muscular dystrophy he had since birth.
“I remember listening to Steve Norris on the A.M. dial at 9:00 in the mornings when I was a kid,” Meteorologist Mark Baldwin wrote in a tribute post shared on Facebook. “He would give the forecast and then chat with the D.J. for several more minutes. Sometimes they’d stay on for 10 minutes or more just talking about weather. It was from Steve that I learned about Alberta Clippers and how very trivial they can be to a forecast on the plateau. I was fascinated by those things! I still recall some of the lessons I learned from him on that, long before I ever went to college to be a meteorologist.”
