Timbaland and Swizz Beatz reunited for a VERZUZ rematch on Sunday (May 30), after originally facing off in March 24,2020.
“Y’all should feel great, excited,” said Timb. “We boutta play a bunch of hits. Matter of fact, too many hits. I can’t even count.”
Both producers came shooting out the gate. The duo wasted no time blasting through songs they created with the likes of Missy Elliot, Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, DMX, Angie Stone, Drake, Justin Timberlake and many more.
One of the highlights of any VERZUZ segment are the surprise drops. Fans tune in hoping to get a snippet of a new track or an old song that never got put out. In this case Swizz Beatz played a new verse J. Cole recorded for DMX’s Bath Salts. The original featuring both Nas and Jay-Z can be found on X’s new album Exodus.
Timbo and Swizz Beatz’s rematch was another entertaining event with some fans going as far as calling it “the best verzuz yet.”
