On September 21, 2022 at 5:24am, officers responded to the Summerland Heights Apartments located in the 1900 block of Gableridge Turn in Woodbridge to investigate an assault.
The investigation revealed the victim, a 26-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation the evening prior.
The altercation escalated when the accused struck the victim multiple times. At one point, the victim attempted to leave when the accused grabbed her and pushed into a bedroom where he continued to assault the victim.
When the victim attempted to leave a second time, the accused put his arm around her neck. The accused continued to assault the victim for several hours until leaving the apartment.
The victim contacted rescue services prompting the police response. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Travon Dontae BOYETTE, who was subsequently located and arrested by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Arrested on September 21 Travon Dontae BOYETTE, 28, of 7 Vanburgh Ct in Stafford has been charged with unlawful wounding, abduction, strangulation, obstructing messages to law enforcement, and assault & battery.
