Two ladies have been detained in connection with the death of an eight-month-old girl at a daycare center following a “medical event.”
On Monday afternoon, police were summoned to Tiny Toes Nursery in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
The girl was taken to the hospital and died later.
The two ladies, aged 35 and 34, are being held on suspicion of manslaughter, according to Greater Manchester Police.
The death was termed as “heartbreaking” by the police force.
“Our sympathies go out to the little girl’s family, who are understandably surprised and upset,” Det Supt Phil Duffy said.
We’re doing everything we can to provide them with the information they require.
“Officers are still working to piece together all of the facts and situations.”
