Two secret service agents were recently arrested for impersonation, one of which includes Arian Taherzadeh, who is the man from DC who paid Secret Service agents to impersonate members of a fictitious Department of Homeland Security task force.
Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali were arrested after the FBI agents found out that they were impersonating the fake department of homeland security task force members.
Arian Taherzadeh was arrested recently, as he is from DC is the man who pretended to be a member of a fake Department of Homeland Security task team investigating violence linked to the incident at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021. He had an acquaintance named Haider Ali who worked with him in this scheme.
The accused reportedly created the scheme to favor Secret Service officers by providing them with rent-free luxury residences, high-end devices, and police equipment.
NY Post reported that, he also gave a $2,000 assault rifle to one of the misled agents who served on first lady Jill Biden’s security detail. The suspects are also accused of providing an agent with a luxury apartment that was rented for more than $40,000 per year.
The postal inspectors discovered their lie when they were investigating an attack on a mail delivery person last month at the suspects’ apartment building. Therefore, the residents told the officers that the two men said they were DHS special agents.
The claimed impostor feds had apparently installed surveillance in the building and informed other tenants that they could access their smartphones and personal information.
When more than a dozen FBI officers raided the upscale building in Southeast DC on Wednesday evening, they were taken into custody.
Their arrest resulted when the post inspector informed the DHS that two of their men claimed they were undercover agents. Then, the DHS notified the FBI, who then went to raid their apartment, writes BBC.
The two of them are set to appear in court on Thursday. They had been posing as secret service agents for the last two years. Further information is yet to be released.
Federal prosecutors charged Arian Taherzadeh, 40, and Haider Ali, 36 for posing as fed agents, giving free apartments and other gifts to Secret Service agents.
