Ty Dolla $ign unleashes his first single of 2019. “Purple Emoji” features J. Cole and is produced by MXXWLL. The track is the first release from Ty’s upcoming yet to be titled album.
In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Ty explained how the collaboration came to fruition.
“I was at this studio called Jungle City in New York working on Yandhi with Kanye [West],” TY explained to Zane Lowe who premiered the track. “I just took over the top room I had a whole separate room he had the bottom floors. And then just turns out Cole was in the room right next to me. When I saw him I was like bro I got something to play you and he’s like I got something to play to you so I went to his studio and heard everything he was working and then I’m like, ‘yo I just did this one I thought would be crazy for both of us, so he came in my room I played it for him immediately and he did his verse in five minutes.”
Ty’s last album “Beach House 3” was released in 2017.
