Victim of attempted murder in Regina dies from injuries

The victim of a recent attempted murder, 30-year-old Regina woman Lori Shannon Huntinghawk, has died as a result of her wounds.

Police were called to the 1200 block of Garnet Street on May 23 at around 2:00 a.m. after receiving a complaint of a critically hurt female. EMS transported Huntinghawk to the hospital.

Two people were arrested with several counts during a Major Crimes Unit-led investigation into this case.

Aggravated assault and attempted murder were among the initial accusations.

However, the Crown withdrew the first charges and substituted the following ones after the victim passed away on June 6 in a hospital:

Both Regina residents Tegan Lestat Laplante, 24, and Ashley Rempel, 34, have been charged with first-degree murder.

To combat distracted driving, Regina Police have introduced new motorcycles.

On June 23 at 2:00 p.m., both appeared in court for the first time about the fresh charges.
