Before his new album Milky Way arrives this Friday, (Aug. 21). Bas decides to spice things up by releasing his highly-anticipated track with label boss, J. Cole. The melodic record finds the Dreamville artist rapping about a special lady.
“I think I made it, I think I made it/ Cause I’m always smiling, and you are the reason now,” Bas sings on the song’s hook. “Girl, I can’t explain it/ It’s all in the timing, I had to get low/ I had to get low.”
Cole on the other hand raps about being “hella faded,” and being dealt with “impossible odds.” He also raps about the woman in his life. “I thought that I saw it all ’til I saw you/ Now I call you when the sun shines and the rain dries up,” he raps. “I’m a pit bull, but for you I be on chain tied up (one more time)/ In the backyard with a muzzle on tail wagging like Oregon Trail.”
The fast-tempo track is a single from Bas’ new album Milky Way, which also features A$AP Ferg. “Tribe” comes complete with a video shot in Miami’s Little Haiti.
