Watch King Von’s “Demon,” the Latest Welcome To O-Block Video.
King Von was one of his generation’s finest storytellers, vividly capturing episodes of his eventful life with passion and attention-to-detail. Today, on what would’ve been his 27th birthday, Von’s family and team share the video for “Demon,” based on an idea and treatment written by the artist himself.
Produced by the late artist’s frequent collaborator Chopsquad DJ, “Demon” is an emotional and melodic highlight from Welcome To O-Block, as Von details his pre-fame life, pays tribute to his crew, and gracefully carrying the responsibility of representing his block everywhere he goes.
Directed by Joan Pabon and premiered by BET, the video depicts many of the situations Von depicts in the lyrics, from police encounters to tragic events in the streets.
During his lifetime, Von always had a major role in the visual element of his music–the clip for “Demon” ends with a recording of Von describing in detail his vision for the video.
“Demon” is the fourth video to be released from Welcome To O-Block since King Von tragically passed in November.
