Kyle Newman is a popular show that Hunter King and her co-star Michael Mealor featured in, but it turns out that they have quit the show. King has been following Mealor since learning about his return to the show.
Kyle Abbott will be without his new wife, the ambitious Summer Newman Abbott, who was last played by actress Hunter King, when Michael Mealor comes to “The Young and the Restless” in the spring of 2022 as Kyle Abbott.
Soap Opera Digest stated that, he will be traveling solo to confront his assumed dead mother, Diane Jenkins, now that he knows she is alive.
Summer will soon find out why he didn’t bring her home with him. Maybe she’ll just stay in Italy because of her glamorous fashion work, or maybe there’s trouble in paradise for this couple.
Hunter King had left numerous times “The Young and the Restless” when Kyle and Summer flew off to Italy in 2021. King joined the soap in 2012 as an adolescent Summer but left in 2016 to pursue her primetime role as Clementine Hughes in “Life In Pieces” (via IMDb).
Summer had grown a bit manipulative when King returned to “The Young and the Restless” in 2018, trying to attract her mother’s boyfriend, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), which Phyllis Summers (then played by Gina Tognoni) didn’t enjoy.
She immediately went for her ex-fiance, Kyle Abbott, disregarding the fact that he was dating Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).
She desired Kyle and was determined to obtain him. Kyle married Summer but soon dumped her for Lola and then dumped Lola when he realized he had always desired Summer. Kyle and Summer moved to Italy for a fresh life in 2021 after a series of disasters and married off-screen.
Despite the fact that both Michael Mealor and Hunter King had a brief guest appearance during the fall of 2021 when Summer and Kyle witnessed Victoria Newman and Ashland Locke’s wedding (via Soap Opera Digest), King has decided not to return for the time being.
However, she has no regrets about her time on “The Young and the Restless” and will always remember her role as Summer.
Despite the delight she felt working on “The Young and the Restless” for nearly ten years, King realized she had to move on.
She went on to say that while she doesn’t rule out a return of “The Young and the Restless” in the future, she wants to try other things for now. Will King decide to return to the soap as a result of the casting call? Perhaps, but only time will tell.
On Saturday, June 4 at 8 p.m, Hunter King will star in a new Hallmark movie, and audiences will get a front-row seat as her character embarks on a new adventure.
King will play Addie in the network’s all-new original Hidden Gems, a woman who loses her grandmother’s ring in the waves of Hawaii while preparing for her sister’s wedding.
While we won’t see her on The Young and the Restless much longer, fans will get to see King in her first — and hopefully not last — Hallmark film!
