(NEWS) Back in 2012 legendary hip hop artist Ice-T released the hip hop documentary Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap. The film was used to pay tribute to the musical art form known as Rap and it featured interviews from Common, Q-Tip, Kanye West, Run-DMC and lots more.
Not stopping there, Ice is now looking to take it to another level. The Law & Order: SVU star is teaming up with Universal Zulu Nation’s Mickey Bentson to launch The Art Of Rap Music Festival.
The host and line up for the two day event has already been announced and it’s mouth watering (for us hip hop heads of course). The event is set to be hosted by Chief Rocker Busy Bee while some of the artists that will rock the stage of the two day event include Rakim, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, The Game, Ice-T, Big Daddy Kane, Afrika Bambaataa, Grand Master Melle Mel,Warren G, Ras Kass, Slick Rick, Xzibit, Too $hort and lots more.
Day one of the festival will take place at Varizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California on July 18th. While day two will be held at shoreline Amphitheater in mountain view, California on July 19th.
Attendees should expect a full hip hop experience at the festival which will feature break dancers, live graffiti artists, vendors and more. The full lineup and trailer for the festival can be viewed below. The lineups vary by city but I think which ever day you choose to attend you won’t be disappointed.
