Yelawolf leaves Shady Records after eight years with the label. The Alabama rapper made the announcement during a performance in Colorado.
“Trunk Muzik 3 is my last album on Shady Records,” Yelawolf stated. “Five fuckin’ albums on Shady Records. I feel blessed for that. Make some noise for Marshall Mathers!”
Yelawolf signed to Shady Records in 2011 alongside Slaughterhouse and released five albums under the label, including his Shady debut “Radioactive,” “Love Story” and last year’s “Trial By Fire.” There’s still a possibility Shady records could choose to re-sign him when his 6 year contract officially expires but at this point in time it’s looking unlikely. Catfish Billy already has his eyes fixated on starting his own movement inspired by country sound.
Yela is currently on his Trunk Muzik 3 Tour, which runs through to the top of September in Houston.
