In a new interview with Rolling Stone for the magazine’s December Cover Story, Adele opened up about moving to Los Angeles, her upcoming fourth album, 30, and separation from her husband Simon Konecki.
In the same interview, the Grammy winning singer-songwriter touched on her anticipation for Kendrick Lamar’s long-awaited album.
As a fan of the rapper Adele says the wait has been “fucking hell,” but unlike the rest of us she’s been privileged to hear the Compton rapper’s new songs.
It doesn’t sound like much, but it could be — because it means Kendrick is recording new music and a possible album can’t be too far away. Back in August Kendrick revealed in a blog post that his next album will be his last under Top Dawg Entertainment.
“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood,” the statement read.
“May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”
He continued “There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all.”
Kendrick Lamar hasn’t released an album since 2017’s pulitzer-winning DAMN.
Kendrick will be performing this upcoming weekend at Day N Vegas, and some of his supporters are expecting him to make an official album announcement at the show.
While the rest of us still wait eagerly for some new music from Kung Fu Kenny, Adele fans can finally breathe easy as the 33-year old singer’s highly-anticipated fourth album “30” is due to arrive November 19.
The London Native told Rolling Stone’s Brittany Spanos, a few songs on the forthcoming album were inspired by the aftermath of her divorce from Konecki in 2019, and her new dating life in California.
“I lasted five seconds [dating here],” Adele said, adding, “You can’t set me up on a f—ing blind date! I’m like, ‘How’s that going to work?’ There’ll be paparazzi outside and someone will call [gossip site] DeuxMoi, or whatever it’s f—ing called! It ain’t happening.”
