Kanye West notoriously has loosed lips when talking about his personal life so it’s no surprise his latest interview with Drink Champs was a scorcher. N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN didn’t have to work really hard to get him to spill anything. Ye is a willing chatterbox.
The 44-year old rapper formerly known as Kanye West talked about his relationship with Kim Kardashian, his beef, and a possible verzuz against Drake, crashing Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMAs, Soulja Boy and much more.
One of the biggest talking points from the episode was his comments about Big Sean. During the two-hours long interview Ye called signing Big Sean to G.O.O.D. Music back in 2007 ‘the worst thing’ he’s ever done.
When N.O.R.E. asked who he preferred — Pusha T or Big Sean — Kanye responded saying, “Oh i love this,” while holding a prop gravestone. “Let me tell you. I already decided that when I die, on my tombstone it’s gonna say, ‘I deserve to be here because I signed Big Sean.’”
“Nah, look, I know this man’s mama,” Kanye said before also bringing up John Legend. “I’ve changed this man’s family. And both John Legend and Big Sean, when I ran for office, got used quick by the Democrats to come at they boy that actually changed they life and that’s some sellout shit. And I don’t rock with neither of them and I need my apologies.”
Shortly after Ye’s comments went viral, Big Sean fired up a tweet with a bunch of laughing emojis. In another tweet he posted a picture of himself hanging with Ye and explained that the Donda artist “ain’t say none of that” when they recently connected, noting the photos were taken after the Drink Champs interview.
Kanye’s comments comes barely a month after Sean revealed he was no longer signed to G.O.O.D. Music.
“By the way this the first project where I’m on my own label as well, no more lil dawg shit!!!! I bossed up! #DONLIFE,” Sean said while talking about his new What You Expect EP with Hit-Boy. “That’s a forever brotherhood, but business wise, I had to start getting a bigger cut! I worked my way out that deal.”
Prior to Ye’s interview making headlines, the Detroit rapper tweeted he had a feeling Kanye had said something about him because he was asked if he’d like to come on the podcast.
“I just got asked to be on the next Drink Champs so I’m assuming Ye talkin crazy,”
After hearing his former boss’ comments Sean says “I can’t wait to go on Drink Champs now!!!”
