Hot off his appearance on Jail Pt. 2 from Kanye West’s Donda album, controversial Charlotte rapper DaBaby shares a new freestyle over Wizkid and Tem’s buzzing single “Essence.”
On Tuesday DaBaby took to Instagram to post a clip of his “Whole Lotta Money” freestyle and in the caption he asked his fans what song they wanted him to remix next.
“WHAT YALL WANT NEXT ? 👀“ESSENCE” or “WOCKESHA”? He asked. “Y’all call the play we gone run it.”
Fans voted for ‘Essence’ and the North Carolina rapper wasted no time in sharing a video for the freestyle. On the track DaBaby seemingly references the recent controversy surrounding his homophobic comments at Rolling Loud Miami.
“These ni**as scared of another alpha male, I don’t feel y’all (I don’t feel)”
“Tell me how the fu*k it feel to follow behind a followin’-ass nia on a computer, nia
“All of y’all some sheep-ass nias, these nias gullible”
“Don’t mind you, know I don’t fuk with you if I don’t fuk with you.”
“Remind me to keep it real and be myself ’cause all these other ni**as need help”
Prior to dropping the freestyle DaBaby met with nine HIV awareness organizations during which he apologized for his “inaccurate and hurtful comments.”
According to a statement issued after the meeting, “DaBaby was genuinely engaged, apologized for the inaccurate and hurtful comments he made about people living with HIV, and received our personal stories and the truth about HIV and its impact on Black and LGBTQ communities with deep respect.”
The statement continued. “We appreciate that he openly and eagerly participated in this forum of Black people living with HIV, which provided him an opportunity to learn and to receive accurate information.”
