Moments after the conclusion of Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz at the Hulu theater, early Wednesday (September 15). Jermaine Dupri took to Twitter to let Diddy know he was ready for a hit-to-hit duel.
“Somebody let Diddy know I’m at the garden right now,” wrote JD on Twitter. “And he gon need some training.”
Despite JD’s status as one of hip hop’s most revered producers, Diddy declined the challenge because he believes the only person with a catalog big enough to battle him in a Verzuz is Dr. Dre.
“Beloved you my n-gga but your arms too short to box with God!!! You aiint got enough hits,” he said. “I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary . But I do have the upmost respect on you as a musical legend – Dre the only one can get in the ring w me.”
Jermaine Dupri has produced and written songs for some of music’s biggest names including Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, TLC, Monica, Alicia Keys and Usher so fans were shocked at Diddy’s comments, which many found to be disrespectful. What do you think? Is Diddy right?
