Dr. Dre was reportedly served with divorce documents while he was buring his grandmother on Monday.
TMZ reports A process server for his ex-wife attempted to serve the legendary rapper/producer with legal papers at a Los Angeles cemetery where he buried the woman who helped raise him.
Sources close to the couple differ in where they claim the documents were served, with those on Dre’s side saying the papers were given to him by the gravesite, next to his grandma’s casket, while those connected to Nicole claim they dropped them in the parking lot. The rap icon was reportedly in disbelief and refused to accept the documents in hand.
Dr. Dre, real name Andre Young, is currently in the midst of divorce proceedings with his wife of 24 years Nicole Young. The papers served involved payment of Nicole’s attorney’s fees.
Nicole says Dr. Dre has only paid $325,433 of a total of $1,550,000 ordered by a judge, and still owes a balance of $1,224, 567. However the music mogul claims that this figure is a mistake and that he has already paid the full fee owed.
Earlier this year, a judge ordered Dre to pay his estranged wife $300,000 every single month in spousal support.
