UPDATE: Drake just won over $2 million Canadian dollars in bitcoin after the Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 13), and his good friend Odell Beckham scored a Touch Down. God’s plan.
The Los Angeles Rams came back to beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in front of a home crowd at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday. It was the Rams’ first Super Bowl championship as an L.A. team and its second in franchise history.
Drake is putting his money where his heart is, $1.25 million to be exact.
The OVO boss revealed on his Instagram page, Thursday, that he has placed a bet of nearly $800k Canadian dollars on his good friend Odell Beckham catching a touchdown and logging more than 62.5 receiving yards during Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The screenshots also showed he placed a bet of over $500k on the Los Angeles Rams to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals. If all three bets hit, the Certified Lover Boy stands a chance of winning over $2 million Canadian dollars in total.
In the Instagram screenshot, Drake also showed a photo of what appeared to be gloves given to him by OBJ.
“All bets are on the family,” Drake captioned the post, prompting Beckham to respond with “It’s time.”
Drake’s support for Beckham shouldn’t be a surprise. The Toronto rapper and Odell have been good friends since 2015. In a Draft Kings interview from Aug. 26, 2016, Odell spoke of their blossoming friendship and revealed he’s been a fan of the 6god since Degrassi.
“To see his whole story and then to finally be able to meet him, a guy like that whose mindset is very similar to mine,” OBJ said. “Like I said, he wants to be the greatest. He wants to put out the best song every single time. I understand where he’s at.”
Super Bowl LVI is set to kick off at 3:30 PM PT on Sunday (February 13.). The Rams are favorites to win by 3.5 points.
This year’s halftime entertainment will be provided by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige.
