“That verse was crazy. Album of the year incoming.”
J. Cole is back on the scene and his fans are struggling to keep it together. The rapper on Friday shared a quick Interlude off his upcoming highly anticipated album The-Off Season.
On the soulful track produced by Cole himself, he talks to his naysayers, raps about police brutality and remembers the late Pimp C and Nipsey Hussle.
“Christ went to heaven, age 33 / And so did Pimp C and so did Nipsey,” raps J. Cole on the track also produced by T-Minus and Tommy Parker.
“Interlude” serves as the lead single off “The Off-Season,” arriving next week Friday. Although the track was about two minutes long, Cole still left his fans with a lot to unpack and they couldn’t wait to share their thoughts.
