Drake has moved on to the upper echelon of music and on his 35th birthday, fans and fellow industry peers have taken to social media to celebrate the 6 God.
Appearing on the hip-hop scene in 2001, Drake quickly became one of the world’s best-selling music artists, with over 170 million records sold. His birthday comes in the midst of some of the best times in his career as well.
Billboard rightfully proclaimed him artist of the decade and his new album Certified Lover Boy broke Michael Jackson’s record for the most Billboard Hot 100 top 10’s from the same album.
Feeling the love, the Toronto native posted on his Instagram story some of the birthday props he received from his friends including Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Future and DJ Khaled.
“More life, more blessings my brother,” wrote Future on his Instagram story.
Posting a picture of them together, French Montana wrote “Happy mother f-cking birthday to the goat my twin @champagnepapi.”
“This shit 4life N after, see you in a few we turning up tonight,” he added.
Nicki Minaj, Boi 1da and South African music icon Black Coffee also wished him a happy birthday.
“Happy birthday to the goat, Nicki captioned a photo of her and Drake.”
“Happy birthday to my Day 1 my brother for life. More everything this year,” wrote Boi1da.
