During his tell all interview on Drink Champs last week, Kanye West opened up about his admiration for Drake, and says he would like to have a conversation with him.
“I love Drake,” Ye said, while discussing their rivalry. “Let’s have Drake have his spot of what he meant in my life specifically and what he’s meant to rap over the last specifically.”
Ye adds he’s been “wanting to sit down with Drake to say this just as an OG,” and it looks like he may finally have his chance. In a video posted on Twitter, Monday (Nov. 8) by J. Prince, the Rap-A-Lot Records founder said incarcerated gang leader, Larry Hoover would like a truce between the two.
“So I met with @kanyewest to pass on the message from my brother Larry Hoover who said he would like to see peace between the two of them,” he tweeted.
Ye reportedly ‘received this well’ and said it’s time to put their feud “to rest.”
“I’m making this video to address the ongoing back and forth between myself and Drake,” Ye said while reading off his phone. “Both me and Drake have taken shots at each other and it’s time to put it to rest.”
Ye, who is an outspoken supporter of Hoover invited the OVO boss to join him on stage at a special free Larry Hoover event scheduled to take place in Los Angeles next month.
“I’m asking Drake on Dec. 7 to join me on stage as a special guest to share the two biggest albums of the year live in Los Angeles with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover,” Ye said. “I believe this event will not only bring awareness to our cause, but prove to people – everywhere – how much more we can accomplish when we lay our pride to the side and come together.”
“I’m looking forward to all of us working together in unison to elevate our communities around the world,” added J Prince.
So much has been said between them in the past and I don’t think they can be friends. My take anyway… Will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
In the same Drink Champs interview Kanye said he’s unconcerned about things ever getting too far because “Too many people that get paid off of either of us for something to happen to either of us.”
