TMZ reports Nipsey’s brother Samiel Asghedom filed a notice on Thursday (March 25) in L.A.’s County Court informing the court that the estate is close to reaching a settlement with the corporate arm of the Crips.
The lawsuit stems from a dispute that began last October after Crips LLC filed a trademark for the rights to “The Marathon Continues” less than two month’s after Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside his Marathon Clothing Store in March 2019. Despite Nip’s family already owning several ‘marathon’ trademarks all related to the clothing store.
Both parties are expected to come to an out of court agreement soon. Nipsey’s estate were seeking monetary damages and a judgment directing the Crips company to destroy any merch it had made with the trademarks.
