In a previous blog post titled Mental Health In Music, we highlighted the need for artists to take occasional breaks from music. Read an excerpt below.
“Finding balance, reflecting on life and focusing on the music at the same time takes a toil on the mind and you find that more than often Artists crack under the pressure and go down with psychological and mental stress disorders. One would expect fans to have first hand knowledge of what goes on in the lives of artists who they so much adore, but in regards to mental health they find out perhaps when it becomes too apparent that seeking help is an option.”
Artists are human and they also crack under pressure.
Wale revealed in his Instagram story on Wednesday that he has been sick for a while and we hope it’s nothing serious.
“I am out of commission. I been extremely sick since Saturday,” Wale wrote on Instagram. “I’ve missed many calls and texts.. Thank you to everybody who called wit genuine concern. I ain’t sure how long I’ll be down but this shit ain’t slight… Soon as I can come back strong I’ll be back strong. As for now management will run my socials. Much love, see y’all soon.”
His management team will handle his socials while he takes time out to recuperate.
Last month the D.C. rapper announced that he will be releasing his new album Folarin 2 later this year. He followed the announcement with the release of the project’s lead single “Angles” featuring Chris Brown.
The new single features a sample of Diddy and Usher’s “I Need a Girl,” and is produced by OG Parker.
