Yo Gotti who was initially declared a “person of interest” by TMZ in the altercation/shooting involving Young Dolph was never considered a suspect, according to the LAPD’s spokesperson, Det. Megan Aguilar.
However, a 43-year-old man, Corey McClendon, was arrested in connection with the shooting near Highland Avenue shortly after the incident. McClendon was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and he is being held on $1 million bail.
Young Dolph was shot multiple times after getting into a confrontation with three men outside of the Loews Hotel on Tuesday, (Sep. 26). Dolph, after getting shot, managed to run into a local shoe shop in Hollywood near the hotel. Two of the three men he had an argument with ran on foot, while the third drove away in a gold Cadillac Escalade, before ditching it at a nearby gas station.
Though Gotti’s entourage were also staying at the Loews hotel, it was unclear if they had any involvement with the shooting that left Dolph critically injured. TMZ reports that Young Dolph was shot in multiple places including his arms and butt, but he’s out of danger now.
